Yep, it's because of the discs.. They are ventilated, and the vanes are curved.. Not straight..

See on this picture :

discdir.gif

(They also have different ordering numbers)..

So the left and right set (disc and bell) are not the same.. And with the colors you can see which one has to be mounted on which side.. So you don't have figure it out, each time that you have to change discs or when you have to make a pitstop.. ;)

Discs (28 x 315) are pretty expensive.. Set of 2 are about €800,- new..

But you can use them a lifetime with normal usage..

The bells (8 x 216 mm) are also not cheap.. About €650,- for a new set of 2.. And guess what.. They aren't made anymore.. ;)

Then we still need the brake calipers.. They go for around €1000,- for a set second hand..

All and all expensive brakes.. But huge.. 315 mm :D :D

To sell items on this forum you must first reach 30 posts. Sometimes people who want to sell something will post one or two word posts thirty times all in one day to artificially inflate their post count.

Aha now I see. Well, i've been a member since 2011...

But you hit the jackpot! :D

I've just recently I've purchased a 309GTi16 that im going to strip and sell parts from. But i wasnt really trying to reach the magic 30 today tho.

I had some time over during lunch, where i thought ill read up some of the current project here compared to the ones I follow at the PEUGOET forum in sweden while at the same time I working on my car. Always curious to what you geezers are up here in UK as you have less restrictions from your MOT to what you can do to your cars compared to sweden.

All in due time as i reach those magic 30 i will post a sales ad/thread but no rush.

Glad to hear that this one is still ongoing :)

What's that on the front of the inlet manifold? First thought was a take off for a MAP sensor or similar, but it looks too heavy duty for that.
