8v Headgasket, 16v Headgasket - Both The Same?

hey guys. i bought a 16v bx headgasket a while ago, but never needed it. now i'm rebuilding a 1600 8v engine and was wondering if the headgaskets are interchangeable?

i think the only difference is the 16v have a few extra water holes in , so using it on a 8v should be fine, the other way may be a problem,

dont the oilways differ slightly between 16v and 8v? if so, wouldnt this cause an issue?

Just got a 16v head gasket and it had xu5, xu9 and xu9j4 on it. :rolleyes:

Yeah but you can't put an 8v head gasket on a 16v head cos the water bores won't match up.
