Rich_p 23 Posted May 16, 2009 I'm thinking of removing the sad to clear the bay up a bit, it's a track car so not really needed. How to people block off the holes left when removing this set up?
mattbenselin 0 Posted May 16, 2009 Cut an inch or so of the hose, or spare hose, at each end and push onto the connections on the inlet hose and under the manifold. Then I found the plugs used in the end of bike handlebars to seal them are a nice fit to push into the hose bits. Use jubilee clips to seal.
pug_ham 242 3 Cars Posted May 17, 2009 I've removed they SAD on my car (running on MP3.1 so it has a better idle than jetronic) but it still needs coaxing for a minute or so when its first started up. I used the blank from a 205 diesel inlet manifold which is the same as the cooling system blank I mentioned in a reply on here a few weeks ago. Graham. Guest mrtcotton Posted May 18, 2009 Ok thanks... mine's removed. just takes a tickle of the throttle for about 30 seconds once started to get the idle right. little but sensitive but nothing to worry about.
Rich_p 23 Posted May 18, 2009 Thanks all. I just need to remove it all so I can measure the hose diameter to get some bungs & jubilee clips
EdCherry 34 1 Cars Posted May 18, 2009 I got the measurements, if you find some bungs can you drop me a link as I need some. Bottom of the inlet manifold 15mm, Elbow from AFM to TB, 22mm.
Rich_p 23 Posted May 18, 2009 Is that internal or external diameter of the hose? Thats a bugger there not the same size! I guess we could by a pair of each and go halves!
EdCherry 34 1 Cars Posted May 18, 2009 It the sizes of the what the hose fits onto, I.E. the bit that sticks out from the inlet underneath, and the bit that sticks out on the elbow. Id personally buy a 1mm smaller and force them on so you wouldn't have to use a jubilee clip. Like I said if you find something alert me please!
Rich_p 23 Posted May 18, 2009 If a small piece of pipe was left on these could be pushed into it. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=120419529412 I guess they could make larger ones too
EdCherry 34 1 Cars Posted May 18, 2009 Problem is thats £5 for a bit of nylon I could machine myself for less than a £1.
