Do 307 Hdi Yokes Fit 306 Gti6 Calipers?

Recommended Posts

Hello, made a bit or a balls up and have lost the yokes from my GTI6 front brake set-up, dont ask i think during a gargae tidy up they got binned, anyway i have just been looking at the Big brake guide on the home page and noticed that the 307 hdi yokes are about £20 each where as the GTI6 yokes are about £65 each.

Being a bit skint i was wondering if anybody knew if the 307 yoke will work with the GTI6 caliper???

answers on a post card....

cheers people..

Last i checked (years ago) The 307 and Gti 6 calipers were almost identical prices, around £57, it was the carriers which made the Gti 6 swap exspensive. The carriers for 307 were about £20, and for Gti 6 were more like £100.

There different part numbers, which would suggest they dont fit.

I bought my 307 ones new from pug. If it was as simple as buying Gti 6 calipers, but 307 carriers, everyone would be doing it i think :)

Ive never tried to fit them, but ill bet there is somethink different meaning it wont work.

Been investigating this and the problem with using the 307 carrier is the pads are far smaller than the pads on the 306 gti, still not sure if i could use the 306 caliper on the 307 carrier and use the 307 pads as well since i am guessing the calipers will be near identical except for the piston size, who knows???

might order one yoke from Peugeot for the 307 and see how it goes.

cheers anyway

they certainly look the same, I'd be more inclined to find some from a scrapyard rather than go to Peugeot...

don't know if it helps or not but the discs are a completely different offset. I found this out after trying to fit incorrectly supplied 306 GTI6 discs and pads to my 307 HDI caliper setup. the 306 discs weren't as deep as the 307 ones so pushed the whole cariier further out and it hit the wheel

hello, been having a think and does anybody know if i can fit the 306 caliper to the 307 yoke??? can anybody try this or tell me if the centre to centre of the slider bolts would even line up?

could then run 306 caliper and discs with 307 pads and yoke,

whys life never easy???

thanks..
