Oil Cooler - Worth Keeping?!

Recommended Posts

I have a 1.9 GTi Road Rally Car and have recently damaged my oil cooler and wondering whether it is worth replacing? A few people I have spoke to don't think that they are neccesary. What everyones opinion on this?

As a road car I would say your ok without, if your shrashing the car for longish periods then yes. You could run without & see how your oil temp guage gets on, if it stays low then fine, if keeps going up then get another oil cooler.

I run withouth a cooler on my Mi, road only so far.

Temps still seem a little low most of the time. Though not sure what they are, as gauges not marked, normally around the 1/3 mark, thick white bar.

Even after a bit of a rant, they dont climb much.
