Xs Head Skim

Recommended Posts

Guest rmilbank

Hi all, just a quick question. Whats the maximum safe skim you can do on a standard untouched XS head. Im purely looking for the best CR i can get without swapping pistons or having to make cut-outs. Will get fuelling/ignition set up accordingly afterwards.

Thanks in advance

Rich

I had 30 thou taken of my xs head, but the machinest/engine builder said he could take up to 40 thou or 1mm off before i started getting clearence problems.

I noticed a difference with 30 thou taken off.

1.1mm off mine but with some chamber work, any more and you'll struggle to get the belt tensioned properly.

Use the TU1 belt maybe ?, it´s 4teeth shorter or something like that i think, maybe that is too short....
