Which 'quite' Aftermarket Back Box?

Recommended Posts

Super Josh

I would like to change my back box to something with a nicer tail pipe and a more 'Sporty' note. But I don't want anything too loud that is going to drone on the motorway and get on my tits after five minutes. Especially as my car is a daily driver.

I've heard that Jetex make quite back boxes, any other suggestions?

Not a bad suggestion James, although I would like a bit more of a throaty noise than standard, especially when giving it some beans :)

Some standard ones aren't that quiet though, whether the baffles are blown out i don't know, but when both measured at about 4k rpm my completely standard system on the blue 1.6 is a few DB louder than the Wheeler Dealer's 1.9 was with a full stainless 4-1 & Magnex system... but it's actually bearable, the magnex's have a drone around 3-4k that just makes them a PITA!

You would like a chocolate teapot then Josh :)

maybe a little speaker at the back for added vroom then when you want it quiet turn it off??:D

I'll third magnex's for being boomy, or that resonance about 3-4k not jsut a boom :s

Mongoose is ok, nice note.
