Gti6 Piston Sizes

Can anyone tell me if there are oversize pistons available for the GTI6 (other than aftermarket forged ones). I recently bought a block and pistons off the forum, and found one of the pistons was damaged. When trying to obtain a replacement - I was having difficulty in matching the numbers etched into the piston face. I then measured the piston diameter and found it to be 86.35mm, although it looks identical to 'std' GTI6 pistons ffrom what I've seen on here. I further confirmed that the pistons will not fit into a worn S16 block I had knocking about.

 

Any Ideas ?

they may well be marked "A", "B" or "C", don't know what tolerances gti6 engines are specified to, but I doubt they are factory standard sizes as they tend to be under the nominal bore diameter.

The parts catalogue lists two 'repar' options, which I'd relate to oversize - 0628G7 and 0628G8 - maybe a call to a friendly Pug parts dealer can give you the details of their sizing?

Having no luck with the XU10J4RS 'repair' sizes, although the similar 'repair' sizes for the XU10J4R are +0.25, and +0.60 apparently (thanks Welshpug). My ones do indeed have a +0.6 inscribed on the top face, so looks like a trend emerging here - anyone got a +0.6 piston to spare
