Wobbly Gear Stick!

Recommended Posts

Guest miles25

Can any one give me any advice on the potential solution. When I change gear it goes in to gear fine and does not pop out but the gear lever feels very loose and wobbles around?

Does anyone know what this may be?

gear linkages off the top of my head.

these are the connectin bars that link the input from the stick to the earbox housing and into the bot itself.

It could also be the selectors inside the box, as I've seen some really worn ones, but this is a complete strip down job

Also moved this from Body & Interior to here

Miles,

Mine did this.

There is a pivot bolted into the suspension subframe - on mine it was totally loose. As you changed gear the free play was taken up, but then the stick become loose as you describe.

It is secured with a nut from underneath the subframe towards the back of the engine bay.

You need a 13mm socket (fairly deep).

The nut is in an aperture in the subframe underneath the pivot.

HTH.

Antoni
