Speedo On 206 Giving Very Inaccurate Reading, What Is Wrong?

Recommended Posts

Atari Boy

My wife’s 206 speedo always shows about 25 -35 mph too many.

Is it just a case of replacing the speedo cable or is there more to it?

I was quite pleased when I managed to get is to read 120 mph but the novelty soon wore off.

Thoughts would be appreciated.

Jonny

Instrument cluster faults are pretty common on the 206 apparently, so its either the cluster or the speed sensor.

They're not that expensive brand new either, I remember checking the prices for a friend's 1.4 HDi fairly recently and was pleasantly surprised!

Finding the right one was a mission without a VIN though!!
