spikey_richie 0 Posted March 5, 2009 I've done a search and come up with the thread "Can't Hear Fuel Pump Prime" which gives me SOME clues but here's my issue: Car hasn't missed a beat since I had it, drove to work this AM fine... now when I turn the ignition I can't hear the pump doing its usual "brrrr" under the seat. I've checked fuses etc, but now waiting for RAC. Anything else to check in the meantime, bearing in mind I have no tools or multimeter?
Anthony 1,000 Posted March 5, 2009 Give the fuel pump relay a smack and see if it springs to life...
luggy 13 Posted March 5, 2009 Sounds like the tachymetric replay's playing up, its black thing by the ecu, giving it a few whacks can sometimes sort it out!
Tom Fenton 1,526 Posted March 5, 2009 To the right hand side of the steering column, above the "tray" the ECU is mounted with the tachymetric (fuel pump) relay next to it.

spikey_richie 0 Posted March 5, 2009 Bashed the ecu and associated parts.. no dice. bashed a few things under the bonnet, and the fuel pump but still no go. It's turning over fine, just no brrrr from the pump RAC are still 2hrs away
