Is It Ok To Use Silicon Gasket Sealant On Thermostat?

as above, ive removed my thermostat as it was leaking (tu3s) and the 'o-ring type seal have perished, but the thermostat is fine, is it ok to use loctite blue silicon gasket 5926 here or will i need to get some new rings?

15p from peugoet for the seal......

 

Unsure if you can use the loctite for that but I used it for the gasket.

i havent had chance to get to pug as i dont have a driveable car :) i might just use the loctite till i get chance to get to peugeot

I just used General Purpose sealant on my thrmostat. 1 year on and not a drop has been leaked B)
