Do I Need A 'adjustable Vernier Pulley'?

Recommended Posts

is this an essential way of getting the timing right or is there another way that i am unaware of?

maybe a slightly adjusted hole for locking the standard pulley to the head or something?

any help appreciated as usual

and yes ive just realised tha i spelt 'need' wrong! (face-palm)

You can grind the locating lug off the standard pulley, time it up and dowel it as a cheap option.

when you say lug, ive become slightly confused, mine just has a hole that you poke something through into the corresponding hole in the head. having said that ive just noticed that the bolt on the pulley says tu5 on it? im not sure if that is related to the engine code as, as far as im aware its definately a tu3s head.

im getting more confused now lol.

also is there a set degree that the timing should be advanced/retarded for a certain cam or a rough guideline to start from or is it just a case of leave it to the pros?
