You Know When You Start The Car Without Enough Choke

..well below idling speed, I've noticed higher mileage cars sound and feel a lot more worn, like the tolerances between the bearings are greater and there's more of a knocking sound. Also when you sit there and climb the revs gradually, vibrations come and go through the trim and the engine changes tone several times, like it's going to spin itself to pieces! Just some observations when comparing a 95,000 car to say a 140,000 car :(

My 205 does that, but its not the engine, its the gearbox - Dip the clutch and the noise goes. MA boxes.... pah!

Quite often it's the engine mounts are that much more tired.

 

But every old MA box I've looked at has had some wear on the teeth so...

Yes the MA box is a bit rattly, althogh the BE boxes i´ve driven with hasn´t exactly been nice an quiet either, except for our ZX break, that one is actually quite civilised even after about 150000km:s.
