dk73 1 Posted February 9, 2009 Does any one have any suggestions as to why my front fog lights are not working? I have tried bulbs, checked the fuses and checked the connections. Now I'm at a stand still. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
EdCherry 34 1 Cars Posted February 9, 2009 What are you doing to turn them on? They are driving lights normally not foglights.
Anthony 1,000 Posted February 9, 2009 The 2-pin yellow connectors that join the driving lamps to the main loom are notorious for corroding and causing issues. Otherwise, check the earths are good and that the driving light relay is working (one of the two by the expansion tank) A multimeter to check where you have power and earth would be a helpful. (I'm assuming that you're aware they come on with the high beams, aren't you?)
AndyJ 1 Posted February 9, 2009 Second for corroded connectors, or someone's tried hamming up the wiring at some point in a non-obvious way
dk73 1 Posted February 9, 2009 They dont come on with normal driving lights. They come on whilst the high beam is on. I understood that they were fog lights as when I went to order new ones this is what they were listed as. Fog lights or driving lights I'm not fussed i just want them to work. lol
dk73 1 Posted February 9, 2009 Thanks for the advice. I'm going to check now. Will let you know the result.
Anthony 1,000 Posted February 9, 2009 They come on whilst the high beam is on. Errr.... that's what they're supposed to do - hence they're "driving lights" and not "fog lights"
Rom 0 Posted February 9, 2009 As said, they only come on with main beam. Easy to rewire to become fogs if you want to though.

Mark205 1 Posted February 11, 2009 Could be the stalk, i knows that my washer jets wernt working when you pull up on the stalk that controls them but the wipers were, turned out to be the stalk itself at fault, you could try changing the stalk for one you know that works.
