309 Wishbones/hubs/shafts

Am I right in thinking that to use 309 wishbones on the front of a 205 you need the 309 shafts as well to make up for the extra width? Conversely, are the 309 shafts too long to use on an otherwise standard 1.9 setup? I need new shafts in my car and have a set of 1.9 ones, but I've the opportunity to pick up some 309 ones as well, futureproofing the car for the addition of 309 wishbones.

you do not have to use 309 drive shafts with 309 wishbones on a 205, i've run both my 205s with 309 wishbones and 205 shafts with no problems what so ever.

 

i suspect you'll find the 309 shafts too long on a standard set-up though
