Brembo's Under Cylcones

Recommended Posts

I'm sure I've seen a photo of a brembo 4 pot caliper behind a cyclone alloy, just can't find it anymore. I'm looking at getting some brembo's for the 306 v6, as far as I can tell, if I bolt these calipers to the 306 hubs I'll be using the 283mm gti6 disks, but would be best off fitting shims between the pads and pistons due to the thickness of the disks.

I could find out how thick the spacer needs to be by getting the calipers, fitting them, then trying the wheel on, but I'd rather someone told me in advance, so I can get the materials to make some spacers, so it doesn't take too long.

My paddy with feet stamping and dummy spitting because of the clutch and ecu on the v6 has just about worn off now, so feel the need to spend some money on it to apologize!

283x22mm discs won't center in the caliper correctly, it's the 283x26mm 307 discs that you'll need.

306 discs wouldn't be a good idea anyway - the calipers were designed to "squeeze" 28mm wide discs,

so 22mm is really pushing it, regardless of shims, if you see my point .

hope this helps :).

I think I'll give them a miss then, unless I can find some dirt cheap calipers, I've bought some drilled and grooved gti6 discs and don't want to buy more! When the discs need replacing I might have another look into it.

Thanks,

Rob

sorry, missed to reply to the actual question - 20mm hubcentric spacers *should* suffice.
