Who Was Stocking Carbon Lorraine Pads ?

Recommended Posts

SPGTi

As the title, I am after some more Carbon Lorraine RC6 front pads for the 205 (1.9 calipers). I usually get them from DTs but if someone else is getting them for the same (or preferably cheaper) I would prefer to buy them off here.

cheers

They are not very big in this country. i dont sell many at all and to use on a road car you need a source of high carbon disks otherwise disk life will be rather short. If you want to make money then its really some of the bigger/cheaper brands you need to go for like mintex, pagid or ferrodo.

As I said when we spoke on the phone, my solution is to run the cheapest discs I can find (currently GSF@ £15 per pair) and change as needed. This works out cheaper than trying to buy more specialist discs at more specialist prices.

The RC6 version which I have just purchased off Kev are awesome. Never any juddering problems, never any fade (use ATE blue + all braided lines with std 1.9 calipers) and the pedal is consistant no matter how much abuse is thrown at them. I would highly recommend RC6 for track / competition use but the RC5 for a road car. Once you try them you will not want to change.

In the rear I am using Pagid Blues. The only reason being that they were free.

Steve,

How noisy are the RC5s?

Josh

The RC5 is pretty quiet. I run some on my BMW and the only time they squeak is when I very lightly apply the brakes when cold. The times when you basically apply so little pressure the car would probably slow down as fast with engine braking.

Josh,

I have not used the RC5's. It is just that RC6 is an out and out race pad and can squeal at low speeds / town driving but is quiet under aggressive use. The RC5 is aimed at fast road / occasional track days but uses exactly the same technology.
