It's in front, so I guess a choice between 685mm and 710mm?

Cheers all! Luckily it's a bit of a "spare car" ATM, so I'll see if the dealer can do any better - would order from halfords - but the chances of waiting a week and getting the wrong part are a little too high for my liking :D I've no doubt there's plenty of tu belts on cars at he scrappy, too

Last one went down the pan towards the end of last year. There ie a partco locally, but that's where halfords get theirs from  Next closest is main dealer.

Playing about with older cars is getting more difficult by the month with the only decent factors, my favourite mot testers and the local scrap yard all going last year :( Says something when a belt for a small TU is special order!

I'd bet it's the shorter one.

I'll take a tape measure into halfords and get one around about 685mm - it's not too much cash to worry about if it doesn't work  probably the first of many parts to surrender after a few years off the road. If I get one that works out I'll post back as an alternative

shouldn't need the tape measure, the code is the length

Halfords list it as 713a, closest they had was a 700a (a seems to be the v section) it fits at a push, with the alternator just coming far enough forward to refit the 13 mm bolt to the tensioner. £1.85 with discount card
