Battery light was on when i started the car today. (never usually on). i had no radio, no wipers, no indicators, no blower, nothing elcetrical. but i had lights. didnt try the hazards.

i sat in the car for a bit because i thought the light will go out soon. it didnt!

drove up the road to change my accelerator pedal (snapped the old one :) )

turned the car off, swapped the pedal, started the car up again and everything was normal and working.

i didnt touch anything at all!!!!

what on earth is going on? any ideas?

early stages of ignition switch gear on barrel failing. If it happens again switch off and start up again, will prob. be ok. I lived with this for a couple of years in my early days of gti ownership
