406 Driveshafts In A 1.9 Gti.

Recommended Posts

Guest rich205

Hello

As above really, have tried a search but not turned anything up. Basically I'm planning a wide track conversion for the 205, and figured the easiest way would be to build a new wider subframe and use some standard, but longer driveshafts to increase the track from standard to the 1502mm of the 406.

But, will the 406 driveshafts fit 205 (1.9) hubs and gearbox?

Cheers, Rich

as long as you get ones from a BE gearbox yes, CV's may need the ABS rings machining down.

Sounds promising, if they're a straight fit into 205 hubs (with abs rings removed) thats a good start!

Any idea which models of 406 use the BE gearbox?

Cheers, Rich

Why not use the hubs from the 406 as well - Get rid of the std. ball-joint and ovalled hubs..
