banded or new wheels?

Made new ones, 16" instead of 15" so we can run Fedima Xtreme 2's, much deeper tread, wider side lugs, kevlar + steel banded sidewalls.

Where are you likely to run this season, is it a regional comp or do you get about a bit? So to speak. I bet the kids would love it.

National series so we get around a bit, events list:

R1 - 13 March - Sidbury Hill

R2 - 25 April - Waterbeach

R3 - 29-30 May - Baden Hall

R4 - 27 June - Bleddfa

R5 - 25 July - Somerset (TBC)

R6 - 22 August - Sussex (TBC)

R7 - 18 September - Sweetlamb

R8 - 24 October - Ebbw Vale

Sweetlamb is about the best one to go watch, as the british championship and a northern series will be there too, all running the same weekend, followed by bleddfa and waterbeach imo, rest tend to be a bit wet and muddy for spectating!

Better quality video today:

Nah, she's fine now.

Just need to get rid of the roof mounted numberboard courtesy of Adam's shiny stickers!

And start dialling in the suspension settings, which'll be a long job.

Having trouble with it occasionally eating alternators but I think it's just the rpms and shock, trying a larger pulley on it to slow it down and see how that goes.

It's not got that much further bar the interior going in to be honest, as it's in the middle of being shifted to some new workshops.

1st in class today, 9th overall

And there were a lot of big power 4wd guys there today, so pretty happy with that! :D

Would have been 8th but the throttle cable snapped 200yards from the finish line on the very last run, and we ended up finishing 4 seconds behind the bloke who was 8th, doh! :)

Bit more work on this now since the last race, stripped down and revalved the rear Fox dampers as the oil was knackered and the old bilstiens on there have lost some damping.

They're not revalvable though - sealed units - so I've altered the shims and pistons in the Fox's instead, as they're cooler running anyway.

Should have a bit more traction over the rough stuff and be a lot better landing and taking off over jumps, hopefully.

Stripped the rear calipers down and rebuilt those as they were sticking a bit, had all the nuts and bolts off the drivetrain and suspension and renewed the locktite as it tends to soften up after a few events.

Front upright has had a couple of new bearings again and a sleeve on the shaft to take it up to the next size bearing - see if we can get them to last longer than a season!

Also sorted out the number board by taking off the top where it looks bloody ugly and putting some proper stickers (thanks to Adam!) on the side of some Carbon/Kevlar panels on the side of the car.

Tweaked the airbox to get another litre of capacity in there just for a touch easier breathing for the engine, and sneaked a bigger filter in so it doesn't get clogged up as fast with the dust and mud.

Other than that, just routine maintaince - oils/filters/water/grease bushes/regass dampers.

And ready for the next race next weekend - novelty being ready this early for us!

Lots more work left yet, she still understeers like a bitch and the suspension is still only 2/3rds of where it wants to be.

Hopefully we can sort all that out bit by bit this year, and then see about another 100bhp :D

Understeer city!

Can't get any more camber without some serious chopping, bloody vw beam setup - 4000 bushings, shims, and bearings to wear and still fark all adjustment.

Going to move the fuel tank to the front I think.
