Recommended Posts

hi guy's and girl's

i'v got a 405 auto window swicth,i was just wondering will it work in my 205???

the one that is there at the moment has only 5 wires coming out of it and the auto one has 6 wires.

how would i go about fitting it to my 205 eg do i just need the swictrh or do i need more parts from the 405 to make it work.

any help is welcome

IIRC the 6th pin will just be for the backlight so it should work just fine, my mate has them on his 205 rally car.

you will need the controller box as well as the switch, and basically need to join the 205 and 405 door looms together.

I have done it in my car, its OK but you end up with alot of wires, also you need somewhere waterproof to put the controller box. I'm not sure I would bother again.

Someone posted about some renault switches recently that just plugin apparently, worth looking into that.

The normal 405 ones from the early cars i think(?) just plug straight in the 205 connectors with no rewiring, they arent auto, but you do get the backlighting which would make the classic window switch fumble for the newbie passenger a bit easier! Got this tip courtesey of Maxi, who has them fitted in his car.

hi guy

i have managed to remove the control box and loom from the 405. i'v striped the loom to just leave the window wiring.

i'm now not sure what wire goes where,on the 405 loom i'v just got 3 wires one green, one purple and one yellow/green.

can i just plug them into the 205 window swicth or do i have to cut into the 205 loom, if so what wires do i need to connet to to make it work.
