just to let you know this is still going on (a bit less intensive lately though),

i just haven't had time to make a worthy update to the story for a whole

month now, but there's a crucial one coming up soon! :)

thanks.

at last, a long-awaited (or perhpaps an unexpected ) update to the Phase 6 story!

the 2nd part is about cooling, intake, exhaust and instrumentation:

and not to forget, finally getting to test-drive the car in anger with both engines!

you can find the second part of the story (with 30 new pics) on THIS PAGE.

enthrilling video of the test-drive coming soon!

that's it - the moment of truth! and not just that but it's a race

with time as well, as this happens from 1AM to 3AM and we

have to leave for season's last drag race at 5AM!

unfortunately, a cracked rear expansion tank messed up our plans

for the race :D. still, it was a very productive night and i'll leave it

to you to decide if the car met the expectations or not :).

it was filmed from my 205 GTI 1.9 with my hillclimb gearbox (short ratios).

daylight as well as in-car videos coming up soon! :D :D

whilst i couldn't exactly imagine what it will feel like, it certainly did meet

the expectations... and more!

the first time i've properly driven it, it was very hard to drive it as i've been

shaking (due to adrenalin and fear) and when i got out of it, i didn't have

enough power in my knees to stand and couldn't hold my hands still! :)

i still get it and anyone i drive in it get's through the same experience! :D

double torque makes you think "wow, this thing shifts", but when the double

power kicks in after 4500 rpm (as in a standard mi16), then all hell breaks loose

and combined with the sound you get so scared you can't go over 6000 rpm :D.

and i'm not exaggarating!

Excellent work, nice to see its driving so soon.

Look forward to seeing the daylight & in-car video's.

Must be a beast to drive when the power starts to flow & the rev's build.

Graham.
