Removing Glue From Bodywork?!

Recommended Posts

j-16

Don't ask how but I've managed to get a "no more nails" type adhesive/sealant/glue on my paintwork.

Is there a solvent available that will remove this without taking my paintwork with it? I've tried t-cut but it's not helping.

Thanks

Actually it was a very dodgy bodyshop a couple of years ago, I've been trying to improve some of their bad workmanship but made it worse!

Pour boiling water over it and it should soften it enough to rub it off with your fingers.

No more nails isnt water resistant, so maybe hot soapy water and a knife to get underneath it and ping it off..should crack off without damaging paintwork.

If not TF-90 electrical cleaning solvent will get rid of most things.

I think its a waterproof version of no more nails - somesort of outdoor grap adehisve. _ I'll have a go with the boiling water.

Isn't TF90 just a degreaser?

Use Autoglym Tar and Adhesive Remover, you can get it at Halfords.

Just rub it on with a cloth and the adhesive comes away........winner

Have you tried turps?

That doesn't damage the paint if you wash it off.
