Had the sump off yesterday to check the oil pump, good opportunity to have a nosey up inside the block.

 

Poor images, but you can see some of the cast in detail that's on the underside of the pistons.

 

I appreciate it's not much to go on, but maybe enough for some of you seasoned owners / mechanics to tell if they're the 1989 originals?
