Rear beam mounting arms/brackets - identical for non gti?

Recommended Posts

RABen

Had to get a rebuilt or new axle for my '89 1.9 GTI.

It comes without mounting arms and brackets.

To prepare an easy replacement and clean-up before removal of the current beam, I thought to get mounting-arms and top-brackets from a regular 205.

Just wondering if the arms and brackets are generic or that they are different between 3 and 5 door, and/or non-1.9-GTI and 1.9-GTI.

All help/info much appreciated!

Front mounts with the studs are specific to the 1.9 and are handed due to offset studs.

the others are all the same, not handed.

Probably wise to swap your parts over to the 'new' beam as its unlikely it'll be gti spec

Thanks Welshpug! I'll revert to reuse then indeed.

There are 2 different types of arms.

One type has 2 holes, the other has one hole.

Believe it or not, but from experience you can't mix them. As it has an effect on ride height setting with dummy shock
