Recommended garages within the Nottingham area?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I purchased a 1.6 CTI (H plate) over the weekend. It runs well when warm, but from cold its pretty lump and the Rev's bounce around a lot. I know this is a pretty common issue and as I've just got it I am looking for someone who really knows these engines just to give it a once over. I tried called Pug1off but they arent taking any new work until at least October. Does anyone have any recommendations ideally within the East Mids area?

Many thanks

Can't really help with garage recommendations. It's been years since I was involved in the 205 scene. I'd say it's well worth taking all the inlet hoses off and giving everything a good clean. It's easy work and I think you'd find some improvement. I seem to remember cleaning the air flow meter to be something that helped with this sort of running. I think you can take them apart and clean the tracks on them to help. Maybe a search on AFM cleaning would be useful.

Thanks for the reply - I'll give it a crack at the weekend and see if it makes any noticeable improvements. Cheers again.
