DTurbo Tacho/Rev Counter not working

Recommended Posts

Gohn

I appreciate this topic's been covered previously as I read the following two posts

and

mine is the Dturbo and I have the wireloom for an Si (same as 1.6/1.9Gti) so the tacho loom plug is right there at the front of the gearbox

I've tried numerous times with both types of tacho sensor in the attached pic

Its easier to install the sensor that slots in on the top of the gearbox,

the other one with the little plastic bracket is further around toward the rear and in a very difficult spot

but at this point I dont care, I'll use whatever works

it seems odd that both the D and DTurbo have the slots for both sensors

in one of the previousl posts Jay suggests:

Further You can use 591892 that works. Is easier to find new and cheaper.

It has a different plug on it, and a shorter wire,  snip the plug off and solder on the end of the old lead, or some such splicing

given that I've already got three and none give me a signal, would buying another be the solution ?
