Carb Question

Recommended Posts

Junior1

Hi lads,

Could someone one clear this up for me? I've attached a few pics of my carb, it's on 954cc 205 Junior. Am I right in thinking that's a Solex 32/34 unit.

I've been flicking through the Haynes manual and it looks similar to a Solex 35 carb?? Also if anyone knows where to buy a decent rebuild kit for it, been sitting quite a while. Seen a few ebay items but unsure of quality etc...... Cheers!!

Have  a look at the screw that is obscured from view by the black petrol hose in Your second picture. There is often a stamped aluminium data tag held by the screw-head. Or it could be under the opposite screw which is obscured by the choke mechanism backplate in the first picture.

Can anyone recommend a good rebuild kit for a Solex 32 PBISA?

I've used Eurocarb, based in Reading many moons ago when I rebuilt an XS carb. No problems I recall with them.
