Dashboard fitting problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm almost finished putting my dash back together but I've hit a problem. When the alarm was installed years back, the guy that did it must have been a bit over enthusiastic because the places where the binnacle surround screw onto/clip on have been broken away. Is there a way to get it to fit properly now?  I thought about filling in and recreating the holes but I wouldn't know what to use.

Thanks!

The side fitting that requires a screw is probably not going to cause too much grief. There are a lot of 205 dash cowls out there surviving without that screw. If the screw fittings underneath the coin tray and the little triangular trim are both o.k , and the ones underneath the ventilation controls , you may find that the cowl will fit well enough. For that side screw fitting, there might be enough plastic left to put on one of those metal clips that is designed to slide over a plate and accept a self tapping screw , and glue it in place with araldite ( or JB weld ) That should be enough if the other fixings are o.k
