Recommended Posts

hey there! As I am gonna change my servo and MC I need some nice new fluid suitable for track days. I think I need Dot 5.1 or Dot 5, but not sure which or either... any advice?

Thx!

Dot 5 is silicone based. It’s not really suitable for a 205 nor is it good at handling heat.

Dot 4 or 5.1 will work. If serious about track work buy a good quality high temperature fluid. I use Motul.

Perfect, thanks. This was also the one I thought wasn't super expensive or cheap and a good brand... Motul RBF660 Racing Brake Fluid

Just be aware that it will need changing sooner than normal fluid would.

Agreed a litre should be plenty. However if they haven’t been moved recently be very careful with the bleed nipples on the rear calipers, (if it has them) it’s very easy to break them off.
