Dummy shock length when Adjusting rear ride height to match Eibach pro front springs

Recommended Posts

Philip

Can anyone confirm the length my dummy shock needs to be to give the correct ride height to match the Eibach pro springs on the front (25-30mm drop). Thanks

(Otherwise std 1.9 Gti)

Just to be sure can you accurately measure your rear torsion bars diameter

Both bars are almost exactly 19mm (18.98 and 19.05 - measured with a digital vernier)

I did a search yesterday and found 3 recommended lengths (315mm 318mm and 320mm) so thought i best check on here for the correct one :-)

Thanks for the help and the good news is both bars came out really easily

312 centres is what I'd use.

Quick but rough way of checking GTI bars is use a 19mm spanner. If its a nice fit they are GTI. If there is play they are base model.
