Hey Guys, what do i need for a gearbox change in a 205 gti , its a Be1 that already has a Crankshaft Sensor attached to the Ecu , so that should be not a problem but what else is different ?

Clutch cable, clutch pedal, release bearing and depending on the age of the car, the fitting in the pedal box for the clutch cable is different also (late BE1 cars use the BE3 type cable fitting - change is around early '89 I believe).  You can remove the lift-up reverse cable as that's not needed with BE3 (reverse is below 5th)

Don't throw it away though, list it on here if you don't need it, they are getting harder to find these days.

I don't change the clutch cable or the clutch pedal. I just make a special long adjusting nut, that allows the BE1 cable to reach the BE3 clutch arm. It's pretty simple really.

That's a long thread for an M6!

Guessing you need a  lathe for that and machine off the thread of an M12 bolt.

No, start with 19AF hex, or similar. It doesn't need to be M6 all the way. You could counter bore Ø7, 25-30mm from the hex end. Alternatively, turn from round and knurl the end, so you've got something to grip & turn.
