Drop link problem

Recommended Posts

My drop links are touching the suspension strut where the strut meets the hub bolt. See the picture

Major confusion! Anybody any idea what the hell I've done wrong?

I've spotted it whilst I am check torquing everything.

Nothing "wrong" , it's the aftermarket links .. had a few of them doing the same thing .

Just shim the top (strut) side of the link with an couple of washers till it clears the hub , and it'll be fine .

OEM droplinks were tapered specifically to avoid this:

Only really happens on full droop eg when the car is jacked up. Put it back on its wheels and you will probably have adequate clearance.

Same here! And I have a new pair somewhere for when they eventually wear out.

I could have sold you lots of things but your car would have ended up costing twice as much

I can confirm i had the same problem after replacing drop links and arms.  Tried everything and in the end packed it out with a couple of washers. not had a problem since.
