Front to rear stance

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I’m setting up My suspension on My race only 205. Due for some corner weights in a weeks time.

Trying to find the right relation between front and rear height. It needs to be a little higher in the rear....but How much higher? Right now it is approx 2cm higher in the back.

Any thoughts/pointers Would be appreciated. Thanks.

Either end of the sill. It will vary a bit after it's corner weighted.

Thanks again Peter. Yes I’m looking forward to get it on the scales. Made a huge difference last time it was on them.

Regulations says min 50 mm Ground clearance. It is not going to be that low on std. Wishbones.

Do you have to use standard wishbones? As “race only” and the standard amount of front camber do not go together well!

Std. 309 poly bushing + adjustable top mount.

What kind of camber Would you recommend?

Depends largely on the tyres, but it’s unlikely you’ve anywhere near enough with the 309 wishbones.

Yokohama slicks.

You need 3.5-4 degrees of camber and as much caster as you can find. You also need 500lb springs minimum.

Thanks again. Believe the springs are in that region. Camber is not.

What kind of camber in the back?

don't forget the torsion bars/rear springs or it'll be an understeery pig.
