How long does it take to get the tyre in that state?

Presumably that is a front tyre what are the rears like?

What is that tyre and compound?

Both front tyres like that?

It's quite a sharp line of definition between the good and bad,

possible tyre fault or have you had more than one tyre like that?

It is just shoving rubber across and the bit that is clean is the bit being used.

Typically on a competition 205 you want as much caster as you can achieve and much more negative camber than you can achieve with eccentric top mounts. An adjustable rose jointed lower arm is what is needed, just be careful with driveshaft lengths and joint plunge.

Typical of a part worn slick, its already been shaped/moulded by a different car running a completely different set up.
