Fuse panel door - latch mechanism

Recommended Posts

danj.pdx

Hi all,

I'd like to repair the fuse panel door latching mechanism on my Left Hand Drive 1.6 GTi.

The plastic latching mechanism on the door is broken (see photo). The underside of the dashboard has a thin metal clip  that I assume the latching mechanism attaches to. I just don't know how the latch is supposed to work, and there are no 205s around here to check out. Could someone help me by posting a photo of what the door/latch mechanism is supposed to look like? I've searched on-line and not found helpful images or parts diagrams.

Thanks very much in advance,

Dan.

Looking at your photo it isn’t just the clip you need, part of your fuse board plastic has broken away.

It's easy to swap the bottom part, that way you don't need to find a fuse box with the F14 fuse wired.
