Diesel springs on a gti

Recommended Posts

Do diesel springs have a higher spring rate as the engines are heavier, the front suspension on my gti is a bit soft, I don't want to lower it as it's a road rally/ targa car so was wondering if this might be a cheap "upgrade"

Cheers

I wouldn’t be sure as I have never done it but I would imagine it would raise the car slightly, the diesel springs are long, and the gti springs shorter. And if you put gti springs on a diesel it lowers it so I assume having it the other way around may reverse the effect. Just like if you managed to remove 40kg of weight off a Diesel engine it would raise the car slightly. But it’s hard to say which way the rates are but I would guess the gti rate is stiffer being a shorter spring it would be made stiffer to maintain rise height.
