309 vs. 205 rear beam length difference

Hi 

I am wundering how much wider the 309 GTI ream beam axles is compered to the other 205 rear beams axles.

I assume that it is the beam tube that is wider. 
Do anyone know how wide a 309 tube is please ? 
Please look at the picture to understand where the measurement is intended.

Wouldn't it have been easier to just type '50 mm' rather than that?
