foam in air vents

Hi guys,

The foam in the air vents have deteriorated on my car. I watched a video from HumbleMechanic for a suggestion which type of foam to use.

However my application is just to attach on the rear plastic panels when the dashboard air vents are taken out.

The tape he used is this product:  http://amzn.to/2Eb66ud

which is pvc tape about 4.7 mm thick.

however I think it would be more convenient to have this as sheet material. Then I don't need to apply multiple strips. I didn't found exactly pvc sheet. But Neoprene foam sheets of 12"x8" (metric 305x203mm) and 6.35mm thick:

Would this be something for that application? Do you think the thickness of 6.35 mm is reasonable. As mine are gone I don't have a reference.

Best regards,

Maarten
