retaining ring on driveshaft

Hi guys,

For my TU1M with MA gearbox I bought a remanufactured GKN-Lobro (2 brands?, ok nevermind)  left side driveshaft. Peugoet OE 327216.

Here a photo of the gearbox end of the new driveshaft.

Earlier this year I replaced the wheel bearing at that wheel, left front. Accidentally the driveshaft came loose from the gearbox.

Now I could be wrong but I believe the original one had a retaining ring on that end. Like this:

Could that be? I can't remember really. I've a 5 speed MA gearbox from 1995. Have people seen Peugeot 205 cars with that retainer? If so, how bad is it that my new one lacks this, neither that groove in the shaft?

Regards,

Maarten

never seen that image before or come across any ma box with clips on the inner cv.

the only Instance of a clip like that is the outer cv where it is a 6 ball zepella type, not found on anything oem under a 1.9 gti

Great. Now I have much less to worry about!

I was just mistaken.

I'm not sarcastic, I'm genuinely glad this is solved!
