1.6 gti hesitation?

Recommended Posts

floodys

Probably been asked before but my 1.6 has a bit of hesitation around 3k revs and over? swapped for other parts I have are

ECU

AFM

igniton amp

spark plugs ( ngk and bosch)

new HT leads

checked that TPS "clicks"  when at idle and start to open throttle

good working dizzy vac

think from memory I had swapped a dizzy for another.

Since I have swapped this engine in it seems to always have had this plus a bit of a fuel smell coming back with windows open/sunroof?

The car drives ok once up to motorway speed but its just the pulling up to speed through the rev range? any ideas or anyone with same sort of problem they may have fixed will be helpful.

 cheers

ah that's a good call, I would say pump is original, the car was "recovered" after being dumped in a hotel car park, it had been there 10yr without being moved. ill check the pump and pressure next.

Might be worth getting the injectors cleaned and checked if it has been stood that long
