Bike Carbs on Tu3

Recommended Posts

Krash67

Spent most of the night scouring the forum, but to no avail. Anybody fitted bike carbs to their Tu3 . Considering it on mine. Need to know what you've used, recommendations and setting up issues. Thanks

I did this years ago, main problem is getting past that top engine mount without putting them up against the bulk head.

then finding someone to set them up.

id personally be looking at using a single Webber DCOE carb on a custom manifold, simple, easily set up and tuneable and you’d get the same induction noise

I agree with Calvin and I’m currently going down this route.

Got the carb and about to make a manifold for my 1360.

Oh well, if going down the bike carb works for me, you can buy this set up.

How much? For the lot or just the manifold?

Krash is this your current setup? I'm interested to know why you want to change from what you have, we have used the original Solex, a 32/36 Weber DGV and currently running twin SUs but I was also interested in trying this setup. We are restricted to two chokes for the events we enter the car into, I have seen people comment on here that bike carbs can take a lot of messing around and it can be hard to find someone who can set them up properly.

Yeh it is, I was just wanting to see if I could gain any extra horses out of it. Trying to get a manifold for twin 40's are like rocking horse do dahs, so I thought about bike carb's. I see that some bike carbs are a nightmare (e.g. R6),  I gather a few have had successes with GSXR's. The key aspect seems to be  to ensure that the carb's are well supported,  than just hanging off the silicone hoses. I thought I would just give it a go. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
