Driveshafts that assembled backward?

Recommended Posts

 The bHi,

My left driveshaft inner join is leaking grease.the boot itself is intact but i found the the inner clip of the boot (the small clip)is a little loose and allow some grease to leak under it.

I saw the there is a groove on the driveshafts shaft that the clip need to sit into, but it seems the driveshaft boot is too short to reach it (the boot need to be about 5 cm longer).

I was wondering if it's because the prevoius owner rebulit the driveshaft and reverse the location of the joint (install the inner join on the outter joint location and vise versa).

Is it possible?

I will send pictures of the driveshaft tonight.

Thanks

Ido

Anyone??

You can easily compare the driveshaft you have with the pictures if you have genuine one.

could be the wrong boot.

there are often unused grooves.

if you think the bar is the wrong way round why dont you try fitting it the other way?
