Bilstein Dampers For The 405 T16

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at Bilstein B6 either for 405 Phase 1 with part number 35-005520 or for 306 GTi part number 22-247612 / 22-247629 (beeing side specific).

Anyway does anyone know the damping rates of these dampers? As the T16 is heavier than a normal FWD 405 at the front it would be beneficial with some more damping I believe. So it would be interesting to know whether the 306 GTi ones provide some more damping.

306 dampers i doubt will be anywhere long enough for a 405, i know the springs were very long on my mi16.

batfink (kev self at kam racing) or miles may be able to answer specifics of the bilsteins.

i would look at phase2 dampers for the 405 at least as they were heavier.

Yes, however the Phase 2 they only make B4s for.

And the Phase 1 B6 were at least also ment for the 4x4 version. But without any actual damping rate numbers it's hard to know.

It seem like the 405 one is actually an upside-down monotube design, and the 306 ones are dual tubes.

Which make me think I'll take the 405 any day probably.
