Modern Injectors Mi16 Itb

Recommended Posts

PaulJW

Hello all, I'm almost ready to dyno my MI16 engine with fast road cat cams, omex ITBs and a bit of headwork.

I want to know what size injectors to fit to this engine, I'm guessing the engine will make about 200bhp and was thinking injectors from a clio 182. 140cc picos .

Does anyone have any experience on this or a similar spec engine?

Cheers, Paul.

Isn't pico just a physical size, not a flow rate? I would have said anything from 300-400cc would be fine.

clio iwp042's are around 250cc.

pico is the type of injector which is shorter than the full size such as a 265cc iw204.

probably be fine on a mild cam, fast road could mean anything, im running 284 degrees in my engine as a road car and they wont be enough on their own :D (thats why i have a set of each of the aforementioned injectors)

most important thing is that you have a clean matched set and a reliable fixed fuel pressure.

I'd be keeping it >300cc so you have plenty of room for expansion. With <300cc you'll be approaching 85% duty cycle if you're on multipoint injection.

Thank you guys, sorted now went with 275cc/min as there are no plans to increase power any more.

Denso injectors off a Jag.

P/N 2w93aa, 214cc

Big improvement over the originals.

214cc is the same as 1.9L 2v and 4v. They'll run out of puff at approx. 180hp if set up as multipoint. Maybe 200hp if sequential? Certainly no more.

Serves me right for staying up late and not reading the thread properly

I even got the flow rate wrong lol, it's 212cc.

Kick on an old topic.

For more or less the same setup. Would these injectors work?

no, they look roughly 100cc per min too large.

300-350cc/min is fine for straight petrol if you have an aftermarket ECU.

For more or less the same setup as topic starter was what I ment.

MI16 on itb's, PT stage 2 cam, VEMS standalone.
