Farmer,Tom thanks for the info. Appreciated. To be fair to the workshop I have told them to replace anything that's worn as I want to get the car as good as possible so they are probably following the spirit of my instructions

Last 3 Firstline items I have had and I know others who have had as well,no brand stamp on bearing so as per usual you must be a special case

I've a few used ones, split and regrease them (easy job) and they will probably do another 100k miles. £40 the pair inc post if you are interested.

Looks great Telf. I have been following this thread and think you are doing a great job.

Resto’s are hard work, I know from experience.

As Pugdamo commented, the rebuild should come together nicely now, always more fun rebuilding than taking stuff apart, just dont scratch the paint

Hi Paul, Ive pretty much read all 14 pages and fair play to you sir. Well done for sticking at it.Ive also read about your engine build so can imagine its been an emotional couple of years. You will certainly know that car very well when its all back together. Problem is id be a nervous wreck driving it once its all done.

anyway just wanted to say thanks for posting everything on here.Coming from someone whos just starting out where you were a couple years ago ive really enjoyed reading your thread and gained a lot from it.

Look forward to seeing yours all finished (dare I say next year?)

Thanks very much. I'm expecting to see it back on the road by February. (But who can say for sure). It's been my daily since I bought it about 8 years ago and it will go back to being that again although i may give it a break in the depths of winter.

I'd say whatever you have budgeted double it and you might be near the mark cost wise. I totalled up last weekend and it's now running at £6500. The seats, trim and afew other bits still need buying..
