Under side prep now we'll on its way. Stone chip added prior to an epoxy coat then a red topcoat. Next will be the engine bay so we can get the engine back in and get it back on 4 wheels

The plan is to replace most of the suspension elements for new along with anything else that might be worn. I'm wanting to get back to a car that feels like a GTi rather than a bag of loose spanners.

I wonder if I can sell it for £43K after making some bulls*it video about the integrity of the 'pure' examples of the wondrous 205, never in my life did I think someone would be trying to sell them for 43K!,

really looking forward to getting it back on the road now although I am a bit worried about leaving it anywhere after the price hikes of the last few years!

rear glass is not held in by a seal, its a trim piece around a bonded glass.

Final epoxy coat. Looking very straight and tidy I think.

Doesn't sound tooooooooo bad, Paul - assume this includes prep for paint too..?

To be honest, that's somewhat more reasonable that I was expecting (not that it's any consolation to your bank balance I'm sure)

What have they done to the rear wheel bearings? Those are scrap now, the bearings are not replaceable in them as you might expect to be the case.

Tom , I'm not sure I just got the pictures sent through. I take t the whole bearing will need replacing?

Whole hub is one part with the outer bearing races integral. Throw those in the bin and buy new. Sit down before you price up good quality replacements.

Peugeot charged 300 each or so

But I sold a pair SKF bearings in Pug boxes for 300 a pair recently but bargains do appear

Yes,you need new but 300 was the last dealer price

You'll find Firstline on eBay about maybe 75 to 80 each.

The bearing is integral with the hub. You cannot replace one without the other. Looks to me like your body shop has assumed they can buy a replacement bearing and press it in. They cannot.
