Best upgrade for what? It's such a vague and open-ended question.

 

The very best thing that you can do for any 205 isn't an upgrade per-se, but is to refresh everything mechanical to (at least) the standard it was when new, so that it drives and performs as well as it did when it was - quite rightly - lauded as one of the greatest hot hatches. I'd hazard a guess that the majority out there might drive "OK" in isolation or to an owner that knows no better, but they're a shadow of how they should be.

 

There's no point spending time and money on upgrades if the base car you're modifiying isn't even working as well as Peugeot intended.

Decent tyres. Any "mod" with out decent tyres is a waste of time in my opinion.
